Ultimate Windsurfing Accessory

It looks like this is a very necessary piece of equipment for us to have here in Cayman.

“With all that recent worry about taking windsurfing kit on board those nasty airlines, it’s about time someone came up with an alternative! Just head down to your local marina and load your kit into the custom built hold and off you go, cruising the west coast of France before heading to Portugal, Spain and across to the Canaries! Or why not have in permanently moored in some Caribbean Isle ready to do battle with the tradewinds every winter.”http://worldwindtravel.blogspot.com

World Speed Record Smashed!

2007 Slalom World Champion Antoine Albeau (Starboard / NeilPryde) has entered the record books after breaking the outright (500m) World Speed Record to become the fastest man on water powered by wind alone.

The barriers now been raised to 49.09 knots which eclipses Finian Maynard’s (F2 / NeilPryde) previous benchmark of 48.70 knots set back in 2004.

Wind on Sunday?

Looks like a potential wind forecast developing for Sunday! NNE between 22-25 knots at the moment. Could be good. Check the guru for updates.

Kona Boards

Ok, it’s that time of year when we go and order a bunch of Kona Boards!
If you want to have a look on the website, it is : http://www.kona-windsurfing.com
These boards can be used for stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), longboard surfing and light-wind wave sailing and planning, so they are very versatile and will work well in Cayman. I am getting either the 10’5” (145 l) or 11’5” (170 l). If you are going to be using the board for SUP then the 10’5” is good for anyone 150lb or lighter, and the 11’5” for heavier. There is more info on the forum.
